  Student-made Web Pages...Show Off Their Work! Designed to teach students how to create a web page using Netscape Communicator's Composer and can be used by students in grades 3-12 to present their projects or research on their school's web page. Designed to be taught in a lab setting and will be used by the technology teacher in coordination with the classroom teacher.
  Parliamentary Procedure This lesson will allow the student to participate in a meeting that is run using parliamentary procedure.
  Funeral Rites Research Compare student's own culture/religious beliefs and traditions of death and funerals with those of another culture.
  Latin American Colonial Diary Students will use a variety of intellectual skills to demonstrate their understanding of major ideas, eras, themes, developments, and turning points in world history and examine the broad sweep of history from a variety of perspectives
  The Nuts and Bolts of It Essential Questions: How is the development of the sciences and technology a response to societal needs? What has been the impact (short and long term) of scientific ideas, new technologies and discoveries? How do science and technology influence culture? Why learn about science and technology?
  A Nation Divided Curriculum on the Civil War era integrating US History and English 11 content areas (about six weeks). Unit has been applied to an alternative education setting with smaller classes allowing flexibility to combine students for certain learning experiences. May not be feasible in all educational settings, is adaptable. Rubric form the basis of assessments, which relate to tasks and activities, described for each week.
  Implementing the Constitution This unit examines the first working years of the United States under the new US Constitution. The unit is based entirely on a teacher-produced web-site. The students receive all materials through e-mail accounts. Student products are sent to instructor by way of e-mail. The unit takes approximately three weeks to complete. For some students it may take upwards of four or five weeks to complete. The unit is not based on time, but completion of various objectives.
  Remember when....???? Students will research a decade in the 20th century and will prepare a research paper and a PowerPoint presentation.
  The Great Depression A study of the Great Depression, its effects on the American public, and the government's responses to the Depression.
  Banking Students will independently set up their own bank account at the bank of their choice. Students will pick one of the following essential questions and write a five paragraph essay answering the question. They will include this in their presentation.
  Frederick Remington: His Life and Times Document based research, Internet Research project studies on Frederic Remington, planned and delivered in collaboration across standards areas.
  Frederick Remington: His Life and Times Essential Questions: What is the correlation between America's art and it's foreign policy? Can one artist control an entire nation's perception of an era? Is the Internet a useful research tool? Does art imitate life? Are American culture and politics related in any way?
  Career Exploration/Job Shadowing This unit is designed to guide students in making career decisions. They will begin by examining their interests, matching their interests to a career, exploring how to attain that career and finally job shadowing a person in that occupation.
  Letters to the Government-Powerpoint The students become active participants in their government.
  Reconstruction to Civil Rights To study Reconstruction to Civil Rights and its effect on society
  American Music History This learning unit uses many experiences that tie together to help the students see the relationship between them. It combines historical events in American history with Music and includes information how history influenced music. It works well with classes of any size in social studies and music courses.
  Supermarket Smarts High School economics that combines math and technical skills to reach an economic conclusion.
