What would the results be to your reputation if you were diagnosed with a STD?
What could I expect from my peers if 'I were HIV+ With regard to character strength, why do some teens struggle with saying no to risk behavior while others have less difficulty. By a poll, would a STD effect the reputation more for females or males? Why? It can't happen to me, but what if it did? Why do we learn so little from the mistakes of others? What motivates teens to put themselves at risk when their actions can lead to embarrassing and frightening results?

This experience is the culminating experience in a unit on diseases. The students will choose a disease, research it and report on it.

"Power" Dance
|
Hig School students develop a PowerPoint presentation of a dance they have learned in the Dance the Night Away unit.
These presentations will be used in elementary physical education classes
as a tool for teaching younger students these dances.

Students will learn and perform 11 differeent dances that include mnixers, folk, line, standard, and current craze dances.

Students will independently set up their own bank account
at the bank of their choice. Students will pick one of the following essential
questions and write a five paragraph essay answering the question. They will
include this in their presentation.

This learning experience can be integrated into the academic subjects of Health, Science, Math, Language Arts, Life Skills, and Technology. It fits into the curriculum area of Health and Nutrition.
